My first post!

28 Days!

Holy Cow! I am 28 days from staging in Philadelphia and my departure to Swaziland, Africa. Today was my last day of work and it is still surreal that I am leaving for Africa in just a few short weeks. I am nowhere near ready. However I will tell you about my journey thus far. This post will be short but I am hoping to post a couple more times before my departure. Below is a little timeline. It takes a long time from start to finish to be accepted and cleared for the Peace Corps. I am so excited and honored to be a part of such and amazing organization.

May 22,2015- I applied for the Peace Corps

June 6, 2015- Under consideration for Swaziland- I received an email stating that the Peace Corps was considering me for Swaziland 2016.

August 8, 2015- Request for an interview

August 18, 2015- Interview- After so technical difficulty with the video portion of the interview. I made it through.

September 1st 2015- Invitation to serve!

April 2016- Medical Clearance- After a long road I was finally medically cleared for service.
